In honor of World Prematurity Day, the Forum for Premature Babies in Israel has released a report on the state of care for premature infants in Israel. The group warned that more premature babies are being born, and mortality is rising – from 15.6% of premature babies in 2008 to 18.1%.
The group called for more hospital staff per premature baby, more hospital beds, and more follow-up care and assistance for families of children born prematurely.
