Drug Smuggling on Lebanese Border Thwarted

It was disclosed, Tuesday, that police special forces and soldiers from the Golani Brigade foiled an attempt to smuggle five kilograms/11 pounds of hashish, valued at 200,000 shekels, into Israel via the Lebanese border.

The security forces ambushed a man in his fifties from the Galilee village of Tuba-Zangariya and a man in his forties from the Negev town of Rahat, and arrested them on suspicion of drug smuggling. Their remand was extended five days by the Nazareth Magistrates Court.
