The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started trading, Tuesday, with modest gains in mixed trading. About a quarter hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,077.98, up .16 percent, while the TA 100 rose .18 percent to 1,086.61, including a .15-percent advance to 1,225.80 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The real-estate sector led the gainers, rising .32 percent to 287.68, followed by the oil and natural-gas stocks, which stood at 1,111.52, up a fifth of a percent. Most of the technology index rose .16 percent to 343.87, while the biomed issues slipped .13 percent to 782.91. The same percentage loss meant a posting of 1001.73 for the financial institutions. The bank stocks declined .16 percent to 1,106.99, while the insurance index stood at 1,084.59, down .26 percent. The communications and media issues fell .31 percent to 508.83.
