Japan to Host Conference on Syria Sanctions

Japan will host a conference later this month aimed at discussing ways of toughening the international sanctions being imposed on Syria. Tokyo’s Cabinet Secretary said on Monday that the conference is meant to expand the number of countries participating in the sanctions on Syria and further isolate the Assad regime.

The conference is expected to be similar to previous events organized by the Association of Friends of Syria. The last such event was two months ago in The Hague, and it was attended by representatives of more than 60 countries.
