Member of Knesset Meir Sheetrit is considering leaving the Kadima party and running in the next Knesset election as head of the Dor Pensioners' Party, according to a Monday-morning report by Channel 2 Television.

Former minister Rafi Eitan, who led the Gil Pensioners' Party to success in the 17th Knesset elections, suggested Sheetrit for his top spot. If Sheetrit accepts the role, he is expected to concentrate on social issues and expand the declared scope of the party.
