Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started the trading week, Sunday, with modest losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,071.10, down .22 percent, while the TA 100 declined a quarter of a percent to 1,079.84, including a .24-percent drop to 1,216.77 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose .22 percent to 394.56 and the Ma'ala organization's index of socially-responsible companies finished the day at 846.22, up 1.11 percent.
The insurance index advanced .87 percent to 1,083.55, as the financial institutions closed at 988.53, up .01 percent, including a .45-percent decline to 1,084.84. The oil and natural-gas index finished the day at 1,121.17, up .42 percent, while the biomed issues slipped .13 percent and the rest of the technology stocks closed at 343.52, down .17 percent. The real-estate index declined .23 percent 285.91.
