Acting Jerusalem Mayor: Immunize Your Children on Time

Rabbi Yoseph Deitsch, the acting mayor of Jerusalem, called on residents of the city, Friday, to go to the Tipot Chalav childrens' clinics as soon as possible to make sure that infants and toddlers receive their immunizations on time. Rabbi Deitsch's call was part of a joint effort between the municipality and the Health Ministry in response to ministry figures showing a drastic drop in the number of children being brought in for immunization.

A check by the Health Ministry and the city's public-health service also showed that in certain parts of hareidi-religious neighborhoods, the number of children who were brought on time for immunizations was also declining. Pediatricians warned that this could be dangerous for the children, adding that the danger could spread to other members of the family and the community at large.
