Ha'atzma'ut: No Contacts with Other Political Entities

Ha'atzma'ut - the political party created by Defense Minister Ehud Barak when he broke away from Labor - said, Thursday evening, that there has been no contact with any political entity, including Minister Moshe Kahlon, regarding unity, merger or other connections. Kahlon, who recently announced a "time out" from politics, has been rumored to be creating a new party.

A statement by Ha'atzma'ut said that the party "will be a significant force in the next Knesset, [and] our doors will be open to worthy people who are valued by the Ha'atzma'ut Party, headed by Ehud Barak." Some polls say that the party will not muster enough votes in the January election to qualify for representation in the Knesset.
