50 Hareidim to IDF Technology and Logistics Branch

About 50 hareidi-religious Jews are scheduled to be inducted into the Technology and Logistics Branch of the Israel Defense Forces in two weeks, through the Shachar project for hareidi service in technology and logistics. Project director Yossi Cohen said, Thursday, that the number is a significant increase above the 29 who were inducted about two months ago.

The program includes professional courses for the roles the soldiers will be fulfilling in the army, as well as religious studies for the participants. The program was established about four years ago to give hareidim between the ages of 22 and 27 a documented skill they can use in the civilian job market as well as in the military.
