Sources close to Palestinian Authority Chairman, Mahmoud Abbas, deny the rumors that Salaam Fayyad plans to resign his position as Prime Minister.
Despite the denial, those close to Fayyad claim that he tendered his resignation this week at the meeting of the PLO steering committee.
The cause of the move is the dire financial situation in the PA, despite massive international donations. Much of the situation is caused by corruption, although Israel, which purchases products, offers employment, utilities and even loans, is blamed. Fayyad is in charge of finances and economic development.
