Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home) candidate Naftali Bennett said Wednesday that he sees Torah study as a matter of national importance. “We are not a sector, we are the representatives of the people of Israel,” he said. Addressing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, he added, “Please, put Torah study into the budget.”
“When we have 12 or 13 Knesset seats, we can put Torah and Torah institutes at the head of the national budget,” he said. “It’s outrageous that religious-Zionist schools are forced to wait each year for money because the budget for religious-Zionist institutes is not in the national budget."
