Rabbi Eliyahu Ben Dahan, formerly the chairman of the rabbinic court system, has announced that he is joining the Ichud Leumi (National Union) race. He expressed hope that all religious-Zionist parties would run together.
He told Arutz Sheva that his decision to run followed meetings with party head MK Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz and with MK Uri Ariel, both of whom urged him to become a candidate.
Rabbi Dahan is running with the Tekuma faction, one of the three factions that make up the Ichud Leumi. The faction’s rabbis will ultimately decide who to put on the list, he said.
