Israel uses more pesticides than any other developed nation, the Central Bureau of Statistics warned Wednesday, according to Maariv/nrg. The CBS checked pesticide use between 2008 and 2010 by gathering data from companies that manufacture or import pesticide.
Israeli farmers used 3.5 tons of pesticide per 1,000 dunams. Japan was in second place with 1.55 tons used per 1,000 dunams, although Japan came in before Israel in pesticide use per 1,000 residents.
