Survey: 17% of University Students Drop Out

A study by Dr. Anat Gofen shows that 17% of university students drop out of their program, and 25% of students at private colleges do the same. The study was based on data provided by the Central Bureau for Statistics, and was published Wednesday in Yisrael Hayom.

Dr. Gofen found that men are more likely than women to drop their studies. The highest rate of withdrawal from studies was found among students learning humanities, while the lowest rate was among law students.

Only half of students finish a degree in three years.

The study will be presented next week at a conference on preventing withdrawal in higher education.
