In an interview published in a French magazine on Tuesday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who will be traveling to the country Wednesday on a diplomatic visit, was quoted as saying that an Israeli strike on Iran would benefit neighboring Arab states. Disregarding critics who claim a strike would only worsen tensions in the region, Netanyahu said he believed a strike would in fact ease tensions in the Middle East and benefit the region by elminiating a potential threat.
"Iran is not popular in the Arab world, far from it, and some governments in the region, as well as their citizens, have understood that a nuclear armed Iran would be dangerous for them, not just for Israel," he said.
