Will Overseas Sherut Leumi Volunteers Be Able to Vote?

Sar Shalom Gerbi, the director of the National Service volunteer program, known in Hebrew as Sherut Leumi, requested that the volunteers working abroad be given the ability to vote in the January 22nd elections.
"Included in the population entitled to vote in Knesset elections abroad should be National Civil service volunteers fulfilling their mission overseas," Gerbi wrote to the Elections Committee. Israel has no absentee ballot system and voters must arrive in person at their local polling stations to partake in elections. Exceptions include diplomats and ambassadors working for the Israeli government overseas.
