Most of the featured indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest losses. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,059.66, down .37 percent, while the TA 100 declined .38 percent to 1,067.97, including a .48-percent drop to 1,202.61 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The biomed stocks rose .17 percent to 781.43, while the rest of the technology index slipped .01 percent to 336.19. The other positive sector was real estate, which edged up .08 percent to 283.68. On the other side of the coin, the insurance issues declined .35 percent to 1,058.35 as the financial institutions stood at 989.41, down .48 percent, including a .63-percent decline to 1,091.23 by the bank stocks. The oil and natural gas index stood at 1,116.15, down .51 percent, while the communications and media issues fell .56 percent to 501.87.
