With trading essentially limited to local investors, modest losses were the order of the day, Sunday, as the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened a new week of trading with light volume. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,063.55, down .15 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,072.04 for the TA 100, including a decline of .11 percent to 1,208.41 for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the biomed stocks, which fell .74 percent to 780.08, while the rest of the technology index finished the day at 336.22, down .34 percent. The bank issues declined .29 percent to 1,098.19 as the financial institutions closed at 994.19, down .03 percent, including a .07-percent slip to 1,062.07 by the insurance stocks. The oil and natural gas index lost two tenths of a percent to 1,121,85, followed by the communications and media issues, which finished the day at 504.72, down .18 percent, and the real estate stocks slipped a tenth of a percent to 283.45.
