Hapo'el Tel Aviv Basketball Team Punished for Fan Flare

The Disciplinary Committee of the Israel Basketball Union fined the Hapo'el Tel Aviv club 3,000 shekels, Thursday, because of the lighting of a flare by one of its fans, Sunday, during the team's game at Hapo'el Jerusalem at Jerusalem' Malha Arena.

A 14,000-shekel fine was suspended, pending the fan's good behavior for a year. The committee decided that similar bad behavior in the next two years will result in the club not being alloted tickets for its road games. The team was given 30 days to present a program for eliminating fan violence, including verbal violence.
