Although the efficacy of the anti-missile Iron Dome has proven itself, the rate of deploying more batteries is being delayed, according to the Hebrew Yediot Aharonot newspaper.
The report claims that sources in the security industry warned that although the defense establishment is pleased with the functioning of Iron Dome, there is still no schedule for production of more batteries that will allow the added defense measure in northern and southern Israel concurrently.
The reported delay was greeted with surprise, since last summer, United States Congress agreed to give Israel $680 million to acquire more batteries, in addition to the existing six.
