A former IDF colonel serving time for rape and sexual harassment has received early parole. Ex-Colonel Ataf Zahar was released nine months before his six-year prison sentence was to end.

Zahar was convicted of raping a female soldier under his command. He has continued to claim innocence during his stay in prison and has not expressed remorse.
