The Knesset Finance Committee approved, Tuesday morning, a 35-million-shekel loan to Israel Military Industries (IMI). The loan is intended primarily for worker salaries.
Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni expressed frustration with the conduct of the government, especially the defense ministry, in the privatization of IMI but said, "There's no delaying the loan because we must pay the salaries to the workers. We must do everything to ensure that the privatization will be implemented before the elections." He turned to defense ministry representatives and said, "Prevent things that will delay the implementation of the privatization, as agreed to long ago."
