The strike by 600 senior lecturers at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv, entered its second day, Monday. Classes led by junior staff and visiting instructors continued.

The senior staff is protesting non-payment of compensation for unused sick days as required for employees who have retired or are scheduled to retire this month.
