Estelle Activists to Appeal Remand Monday Morning

Three Israeli activists from the Estelle are planning to appeal their two-day remand in the Beersheba District Court on Monday morning.

The Ashkelon Magistrate’s Court on Monday placed the “activists” under police custody for an additional two days after they attempted to break the Gaza naval blockade by sailing to Gaza.

They were held on the grounds they “violated a lawful order”.

The Israel Navy boarded the ship on Saturday after it refused calls to change its course.

27 foreign activists on board were arrested and taken to a PIBA detention facility, according to Israeli authorities.

Of the passengers, 11 were from Sweden, 4 from Norway, 2 from Finland, 5 from Greece, 3 from Spain, and one from Canada and one from Italy.
