The head of the Sdot Negev regional council, Meir Yifrach, was convicted Sunday for putting a hidden camera in the office of the council’s spokeswoman. The camera was set up to send footage directly to his computer.
Yifrach admitted to invasion of privacy under a plea bargain deal. According to the terms of the deal prosecutors will ask the state to punish him with probation, a fine, compensation for the victim, and an official “shame” label on his offenses that will prevent him from seeking office again.
