As the new school year begins Sunday, 305,550 students will make their way into the 67 different Israeli institutions of higher education, an increase of 2.3 percent over last year, according to the Council for Higher Education.
This year will also see an increase of Haredi students entering academia - 7200 haredi students this academic year compared to 5968 last year and 4782 in 2009-10.
