Jerusalem's Mayor Nir Barkat responded to EU's condemnation of Israel's plan to build in Gilo, saying, "I strongly reject the condemnation of the EU in regards to building in Gilo. Gilo is an integral part of Jerusalem, and we're not going to apologize for that. We will continue to build tens of thousands of apartments throughout the city and all its sectors. We will continue construction without compromise as we strive to lower prices and allow more young people live in Jerusalem."
