Former United Nations/Arab League envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, said, Thursday, that Iran would accept the fall of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad if it was decided in elections. Speaking in Washington, DC, the former UN secretary-general said that senior Iranian officials told him, during a July visit to Iran, that the Syrian people had to be the ones to decide.

As many as 67 people were killed, Wednesday and Thursday, in government air strikes on opposition targets in the northern part of the country, according to Agence France Presse.
