The official value of the shekel declined and average of .339 percent, Thursday, against most of the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.809, up .448 percent over Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .267 percent to 4.9913.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.1436, up .165 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .394 percet to 4.8017 shekels. The Canadian dollar jumped 1.025 percent to NIS 3.8928, while the Australian dollar was set at 3.9546 shekels, up .834 percent. Leading the gainers was the Swedish Krona, which jumped 1.252 percent to .5824 shekels.
