Penguin Shot Takes Top Photo Prize

National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen has won a prestigious international award for bravely acquiring a phenomenal shot of emperor penguins converging underwater before blasting through the ice. Wildlife Photographer of the Year Judge Rosamund Kidman Cox praised the image, shot after many hours in freezing waters, ”extraordinary color and shape. The more you look at it, the more you see.” (BBC)
