Several dozen people showed up near the home of former Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef in protest of Aryeh Deri's return to the Shas Party. The incident occurred in Jerusalem on Wednesday.
Earlier this week, Rabbi Yosef tried to compromise by recommending Deri, the former head of the Shas Party, to share leadership with the current head, Interior Minister Eli Yishai. Deri completed a sentence for bribery in 2002. The police asked the protesters to leave the area because of the demonstrators did not have any permits or advance permission.
