Hanegbi Defends Leaving Likud for Kadima

Former parliamentarian Tzachi Hanegbi visited Efrat in the Gush Eztion region of Judea on Tuesday. During the visit he met with Mayor Oded Revivi. Hanegbi stated that the only reason he left the Likud Party to join the Kadima Party in 2005 was because of his deep friendship with then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon but that he never abandoned his ideology. He said that he voted against the Disengagement from Gaza in 2005 which removed all Jewish presence from the region. Hanegbi is set to run once again for Member of Knesset in the Likud Party primaries on November, a prelude to the upcoming national elections in January.
