A woman who made false allegations against her husband during divorce proceedings has been ordered to pay damages, News1 reports. The woman was given a fine of 73,800 shekels and another 20,000 in legal fees for the allegations, which forced her husband to remain in Israel with the couple’s three young children.
The forced extended stay in Israel led to many additional expenses for the husband, said Justice Erez Shani of the Tel Aviv Family Court. The fine is intended to cover his legal bills, the cost of maintaining an apartment in Russia which stood empty for over a year, and the cost of private tutoring for the children, who were unable to attend school for several months.
