Itzik Shmuli, head of the national Student Union, has announced that he will run for a spot on the Labor party’s Knesset list. On Wednesday he resigned from the Student Union.

Shmuli took an active role in organizing and encouraging “social justice” protests in the summer of 2011 and again in 2012.
