The Qatari representative to the Palestinian Authority has announced that his country will invest $254 million in developing Gaza City. At a press conference the representative, Mohammed el-Amadi, said the plan would require cooperation from Israel and Egypt, and the import of building equipment.
The PA has been seeking international donors to make up for budget shortfalls. PA officials have blamed the shortfall in part on international donors who fail to meet stated commitments.
