MK Zev Bielski (Kadima) is sponsoring a bill that calls to increase the punishment meted out to drivers who abandon the scene of accidents. He said Tuesday that a Monday night hit-and-run death proves the need for a crackdown.

The crash in Ramle, “along with the growing number of accidents in which the driver fled the scene in recent months, require us to take a new approach and to step up the uncompromising fight against ‘hit and run’s,” he said.
