Arabs Claim Land in Israeli City

An Arab resident of Umm el-Katouf and his family have filed a lawsuit claiming ownership of land in the Israeli city of Harish, which is primarily Jewish. Harish is located in the “triangle” region in northern Israel, west of the 1949 armistice line.

The plaintiff claims that four of the 29 plots sold for new housing in the city never belonged to the Israel Lands Administration, but rather, are privately owned.

Similar lawsuits recently led to the demolition of homes in the Binyamin-region towns of Beit El and Migron.
