Modest to moderate gains were posted on most of the featured indices at the start of trading, Monday morning, at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. About a quarter hour after the opening of the sesson, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,068.22, up .43 percent, while the TA 100 rose .46 percent to 1,080.56, including a .51-percent gain to 1,221.76 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The communications and media stocks led the gainers, climbing 1.29 percent to 511.11, followed by the Ma'ala organization's index of socially-responsible companies, which stood at 821.72, up .69 percent. The same percentage gain meant a 974.55 by the insurance stocks as the financial institutions advanced .54 percent to 951.84, including a .49 percent rise to 1,075.97 by the bank index. The real estate issues stood at 278.35, up .61 percent, followed by most of the technology stocks, which rose .23 percent to 353.60. The biomed index stood at 756.06, while the oil and natural-gas issues slipped .01 percent to 1,050.73.
