Charges Expected Tuesday in Theft of Torah Parchment

The Be'er Sheva' Magistrates Court decided, Sunday, to extend the remand of the rabbi of the northern-Negev community of Brosh until Tuesday, when it is expected that he will be formally charged with stealing seven Torah scrolls from the community's synagogue on the eve of last week's Simchat Torah holiday. The scrolls are valued at half a million shekels.

The rabbi, who has confessed, is expected to be released under restrictive conditions.
