The government voted unanimously Sunday to move the national elections forward to January 22. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided to advance the elections after it became clear that he did not have coalition support for the 2013 budget.
“During the three months of campaigning we will continue with responsible oversight of the economy in order to protect the economy, and most importantly, to protect Israeli citizens’ places of work and even to add more,” Netanyahu said.
