Katz Accused of Interfering in Jewish Home's Affairs

Chairman Danny Troper of the Jewish Home party’s registration and elections committee on Thursday criticized National Union chairman MK Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz. According to Troper, Katz rudely interfered in the Jewish Home’s affairs by turning to MK Zevulun Orlev and asking him to sign an agreement to run jointly with the National Union. Katz overstepped the Jewish Home’s rules and recognized institutions, said Troper.

Troper added that the Jewish Home’s democratic process is already being felt in the polls released Thursday morning, which predicted that the Jewish Home will win five seats in the upcoming election, while the National Union, which refused to participate in the primaries alongside the Jewish Home, has weakened to only two seats.

Katz rejected Troper’s remarks, telling Arutz Sheva, "I'm sorry about my good friend Troper’s response. The aim is to run on a joint Jewish Home-National Union list and achieve 10 to 15 seats. Nobody has a monopoly on the national religious sector.”
