Director-General Irina Bokova of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization said, Thursday, that the cessation of United States funding for the organization, following its acceptance of the Palestinian Authority as a member, has dealt a blow to UNESCO and threatens its future.

Until the funds were cut off, the U.S. funded more than 20 percent of UNESCO's budget.
