Following the first rains in northern and coastal Israel, the Kinneret is 696.5 ft below sea level, some 2.13 ft above the lower red line. A year ago, the water level was some 3.6 ft lower than it is today. The Water Company will reduce pumping and increase desalination, following five years under the upper red line, which increased the salt percentage in the Kinneret water.
