National Union Party (Ichud Leumi) chairman Member of Knesset Yaakov Katz welcomed the Prime Minister's decision to hold early elections. He stated he believes that the election results will lead to greater representation for what he termed the Zionist public.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva news he stated, "the National Union and Jewish Home Party walk together. The party will keep with Israel, the Torah of Israel and the Land of Israel."
In previous elections the two groups ran together in the electoral race, but in the previous elections ran separately. The Jewish Home Party was previously called the National Religious Party.
