Child activist Malala Yousufzai, 14, remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to Pakistani news outlets. Yousufzai was shot in the head and neck Tuesday as she left school.
She began speaking up against the Taliban at age 11, as the militant terror group essentially took control over the Swat Valley, where she lives.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. “Any female that, by any means, plays a role in the war against mujahideen should be killed,” the Islamist group declared.
