US Scientists win Nobel Prize for Chemistry

Two scientists have both won the Nobel Prize for chemistry this year. The two, Robert Lefkowitz and Brian Kobilka of the United States, won for studies of protein receptors known as G-protein-coupled receptors.

Many medications act on that type of receptor, and scientists hope that Lefkowitz and Kobilka’s work will help in the development of better drugs.
