Defense Minister Ehud Barak put in a plug for his new Independence party Tuesday after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced early elections. “The Independence party is an excellent party with a very clear platform,” he told Channel 2.

“I think that whoever wants responsibility and a clear military stance that will strengthen the country and its security is invited to vote for Independence,” he added.
