There was a sharp increase in the frequency of terrorist attacks in September, reports the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency. The number of attacks originating in Gaza and Sinai remained roughly the same, with 24 attacks compared to 23 in August, but the number of attacks originating in Judea and Samaria rose dramatically from 19 in August to 39 in September.
Attacks were far more frequent in Jerusalem as well, with 28 confirmed terror attacks in September compared to nine in August.
One soldier was killed in a September attack, while another was wounded in an attack from Sinai. Four security personnel were wounded in firebomb attacks in Jerusalem.
