The Jerusalem light rail train hit a new record high last Wednesday, during the Sukkot holiday, when approximately 140,000 passengers rode the train in a single day. The new record was set as many thousands traveled to and from the Old City in order to be present during the biannual Priestly Blessing at the Kotel (Western Wall).

Citypass, which operates the train, had extra staff on hand to help explain the card purchasing system to new users. The company has previously been criticized for its system, which some have found misleading.
