Jordan: Ambassador Designate to Israel Rejected Threats

Jordanian diplomat Walid Obeidat is leaning to accept the post of ambassador to Israel, despite threats by leaders of the Obeidat tribe, according to a Sunday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio.

A report by the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper said the tribal leaders also offered Obeidat five million dinars and a guaranteed seat in the Jordanian parliament in the upcoming elections not to take the position.
